Groups & Classes

Move Group
Move Groups at Physiotas are a great option to help improve your health and wellness.
Hosted by our experienced team of Exercise Physiologists, these groups use a range of cardiovascular and resistance-based exercises. Our Exercise Physiologists work with a range of chronic health conditions including diabetes, heart conditions, osteoporosis and balance issues; along with anyone looking to improve their health in a safe and supportive environment.
Before starting the group sessions, an initial assessment is required to develop an individualised exercise plan.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is a well-recognised form of exercise rehabilitation that involves exercising in the relaxing and supportive environment of a hydrotherapy pool. Hydrotherapy is a great option for post-surgical conditions (such as knee or hip replacement surgery), arthritis, mobility issues and pain management. The support, warmth and buoyancy of the water can assist with reducing pain, improving mobility and allowing rehabilitative exercise to be completed when land-based exercise may be too challenging or uncomfortable.
Before starting the group sessions, an assessment is required to develop an individualised exercise plan.
Reform Group
Our Reform Groups include a range of reformer and trapeze exercises and other strength and conditioning exercises targeted to your specific needs.

The Reform groups are one of our more intimate groups with 4-6 participants per group depending on the clinic location.

Before starting the group sessions, an assessment is required to develop an individualised exercise plan.
GLA:D
GLA:D (Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark) is an evidence-based physiotherapy education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms. The program consists of one education session and two exercise classes per week, over a period of six weeks.

To join the program, you will need to be assessed by one of our specially trained Physiotherapists.
Shoulder Group
The Shoulder Rehab Group provides a specialised rehabilitation program for people with shoulder injuries. Supervised by a physiotherapist, this program provides exercise advice, education, reassurance and the opportunity to progress exercises as able.

This program runs for an 8-week block starting post-surgery. Participants may choose to continue with multiple blocks or transition to one of our other group programs depending on their progress and goals.
Parkinson's Group
Our Parkinson’s Disease Circuit Class program involves specialised exercises to assist with the effective management and treatment of Parkinson’s Disease.

This program uses a combination of physical and cognitive activities to drive the brain’s natural ability to rewire itself, improve motor symptoms and drive neuroplastic change. These classes are run in a fun and social environment, encouraging positivity after a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis.
Suitability to join the class is based on several criteria and will be determined following an assessment.

Mums & Bubs
Our Mums & Bubs groups are designed to help new mums, old mums or anyone post-partum looking to get back into exercise.

If your baby isn't yet on the move, you are welcome to bring them along with you while you enjoy your group.

Before starting the group sessions, an assessment is required to develop an individualised exercise plan.
Type 2 Diabetes
Exercise is well-recognized as an important component of the management of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Exercise plays a role in improving the way muscles respond to insulin, which can assist in the regulation of blood glucose levels. Exercise can also play an important role in the prevention of Type 2 diabetes.
Physiotas provides a Type 2 diabetes-specific exercise program, which also involves an educational component about how diabetes can be managed.
Patients with Type 2 diabetes may be eligible for Medicare-funded group-based exercise sessions following a GP referral.
