Groups & Classes

Exercise is well recognised as an essential component of the management of both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Exercise plays a role in improving the way that muscles respond to insulin which can assist in the regulation of blood glucose levels.

Exercise can also play an essential role in preventing Type 2 Diabetes. Physiotas provides a Type 2 Diabetes specific program that also involves an educational component about how Diabetes can be managed. Patients with Type 2 Diabetes may be eligible for Medicare-funded group-based exercise sessions following a referral from their GP.

Strength and Conditioning services at Physiotas provide an option for anyone looking to improve their strength, fitness, movement and overall condition or their athletic performance. Your personalised exercise program will be prescribed following an initial assessment which may include some base line testing to ensure the best outcomes possible. Sessions can be conducted on a one-to-one basis or you may choose to join one of our Move Groups which are a lot of fun!

Improving your strength and fitness levels has a number of benefits. It improves your overall health and ability to perform everyday tasks, reduces your likelihood of injury or serious health conditions, and generally helps you move better and feel better! At Physiotas we also offer specialist services for more serious athletes including sport specific strength and conditioning, biomechanical analysis and other injury prevention measures.

Our Exercise Physiologists and Exercise Scientists offer a range of groups and classes each week.
